On the wonderful initiative of my DS friend Jonas Areskough we had decided to take a trip to the south of Sweden to purchase some DS parts. Added to the trip was plans to visit some fellow enthusiasts on the way and a third travelling companion; Lasse Frykholm joined the team.
We set off from Stockholm early on the Thursday morning and drove through rain to better weather in the south.
After a traditional lunch break at Vilda Vättern we continued southbound on the E4...

Lasse suggested a quick stop at “Laganland” car museum to visit a unique 1938 Lancia Astura. We were not hard to convince, an amazing design!

We reached our first destination just after lunch, a visit to the legendary Citroën enthusiast Mårten Ekelin, where we enjoyed a close look at his freshly restored 1961 ID19 Comfort with chassis number 3127657 in gorgeous “AC 507 Vert mélèze”.
After refitting the front drive shafts and changing break pads the car will finally be ready for the road.

Interior in tasteful jersey “Gris elephant”...

The car is beautifully restored with a lot of preserved charm and original details.

Joining the group was Mats Erixon in his wonderful 1960 ID19 with chassis number 3066193 in a mind-blowing restored condition, “AC 605 bleu Monte carlo” with blue “Helanca” interior.

Naturally we all gather under the bonnet for a closer inspection and a trip through history.

Jonas enthusiastically relives his childhood memories as a ID19 co-pilot, with Mats the proud owner behind the wheel.
I enjoyed the comfortable rear seat on this ride through beautiful country side roads with the sun glowing through the translucent polyester roof.

Later we had the privilege of a closer look at Mårtens stunning 1968 DS21 Pallas in “AC 623 Bleu andalou” with black lether interiour and Webasto sun roof.

And what’s that hiding in the corner?
This you don’t see every day; a really early 1956 DS19! just waiting to be restored...

Chassin number 2308, ones painted in the classic combination “AC 134 Champagne” with roof in “AC 406 Aubergine”.

Jonas took the opportunity to say a final fare well to this gorgeous green SM that has now been sold. (Fortunantly he still has one SM.) Here we met up with Lasses nephew David, a fellow Citroënist by birth.

We also had a quick look at Davids tasty CX 25 GTI Turbo 2 with Alfa wheels.
We ended a long good Thursday on a local restaurant with a meal in the pleasant company of fellow Citroënists and Lasses understanding sister.
After a good nights sleep in Jonas conformable summer house we started the friday with a fantastic fresh breakfast in the local bakery.

First stop was a visit to David who patiently showed us his elegant 1960 DS19. A real beauty with all the unique details of a Swedish-sold car intact. This car with chassis number 64664, repainted in elegant dark blue was originally painted in yellow “AC 305 Jonquille”, with roof in “AC 141 Gris argent”.

While starting the long journey home we visited a local Citroën dealer on the way to check out a 1988 CX 25 Prestige Turbo 2 with only 55000km on the clock...

Jonas is tempted by the spacious rear seat, but is there room for three kids?

In the back of the garage we found this nice 1969 HY, bringing back childhood memories for me!
On the way home to Stockholm, as a grand finale of the trip we visited another hidden treasure, a unique project resting since the late 70-s in a garage somewhere in the south of Sweden... but that’s a different story :-)
After a long drive we arrived back home late Friday night.
Many thanks to all involved for an unforgettable trip!
