Inspiration: Citromobile road-trip
This years visit to Citromobile in Holland was made into a truly inspiring road trip, thanks to the brilliant planning of the born Citroën enthusiast Jonas Areskoug and the entertaining company of him and the true Citroën guru Curt Nileman.

We jumped into my SAAB and drove from Stockholm by noon on the friday and arrived in Utrecht early morning on the saturday. After a quick and welcome hotel rest we headed to Citromobile (a yearly Citroën exhibition and swap-meet in Utrecht/Holland.)

As usual the parking outside the show was just as interesting as the show itself, hundreds of beautiful Citroëns and happy enthusiasts gathered from all over the world.

Curt found one of his favorites in a white C6 (he has a dark gray one back home)

Among many amazing cars on the parking some really stood out, like the British gentleman Marcus Carltons -58 DS19, a sister car to my own, in a stunning used condition!

That called for a closer inspection...
It is an early 1958, produced in 1957, with chassis number 25517 (8112 cars older than my car)

The market offered tons of nice spare parts and Citroën related things of all sorts.

After a refreshing rest we left Citromobile and headed for Germany.

On the sunday evening we reached Düsseldorf where we paied a quick first visit to Meilenwerk, a car enthusiasts ultimate playground built into an old locomotive stables.
We decided to come back for more the next day.

We ended the sunday in a nice local beer-house with traditional german food and lots of delicious fresh beer...

Sassen performs professional restorations on all LHM DSes on regular basis.

Back in Meilenwerk to have a closer look.
Welcoming us was a stunning 1961 DS19 in “AC 147 Gris typhon” with roof in “AC 141 gris argent” The car is equipped with accessory hubcaps and chrome finishings from Robri.

Meilenwerk features a modern central area with a restaurant and a large showroom with cars for sale...

...surrounded by the old locomotive stables building with a glass parking garage for enthusiasts, exhibition areas and individual booths for different related companies...

Visiting the welcoming booth of Dirk Sassen we found another sister of my DS, a beautiful late 1958 DS19!

We had the pleasure of borrowing the car for a closer look.

Curt and Jonas enjoying the comfortable DS atmosphere.

My happy traveling companions in the company of the two early goddesses.

The true DS expert in close contact with the car.
Curt was naturally trusted to drive the car insde Mielenwerk.

Jonas enjoys a virtual time warp behind the wheel.

Close inspection. This is a late 1958 with chassis number 42043 (8414 cars newer than my own car)

This car, now painted black, was originally yellow “AC 305 Jonquille”, with roof in elegant “AC 141 Gris Triennale”
The black and silver combination is absolutely stunning! I am seriously considering one single exception from my own cars origin, to paint the blue roof silver...

The car is in a nice patinated and lightly restored condition.

Original interior in jersey “Rouille”.

I just can´t get enough of this car...

and my camera is running hot.

Full of inspiration we started the long journey home, after just one more stop, a mind-blowing visit to the german red-blood DS experts Mathias & Doris who showed us some truly amazing things in their workshops...
After a long night on the road we landed back home early on the tuesday morning.
Many thanks to all involved in this trip!
